Taking Care of Oily Skin

Oily skin is major problem faced by youngsters these days. There are lots of reasons that lead to oily skin. The reason for oily skin is more subjective to one’s life style. Sebaceous Glands are the root cause of oily skin. The cause for oiliness of skin are it could be because of hormonal imbalance, consumption of birth control pills, excess use of cosmetics and chemical products, consumption of oily and fried food, not having proper diet and hereditary also. At times you are shameful and you get irritated by oily skin, but it keeps skin young for longer time

Few things to take care for your oily skin that could be beneficial:

  1. Doctors normally recommend cream that has Alpha-hydroxy acids. If used appropriately it is great for facial care. Alpha-hydroxy acids helps in cells renewal, it also hydrates the skin and aids in getting away from oily glands that creates oil. The damaged top coat of the skin can be taken away and you can have younger looking skin and smaller pores.
  2. Glycolic acid is also advisable for maintaining oily skin. If you wish to use the product containing alpha-hydroxy acids, check it should be only 5 percent. For the first two weeks use the product only at night time. Later on, you can start using it in the morning and at night also.
  3. To remove excess oil glands astringents with acetone are the best product.
  4. Smoking opens the pores largely and it damages your skin and your look too. So stop smoking for your overall look.
  5. Use products that have Benzoyl peroxide as it proves to be useful for oily skin.
  6. Everybody wish to have clean and clear skin. You should always opt for natural soap for your face. Don’t use harsh scrubs and cloths. Use hands sterile gauze pads are very effective. Wash your face 2 to 3 times a day, don’t frequently wash your face it produce more oil. Always opt for Oil-free moisturizers.
  7. If you have combination skin, treat it accordingly oily skin should be treated as oily, dry skin as dry.
  8. Be sure, that products you are use for your skin care are especially for oily skin. Don’t compromise on that.
  9. Drink 10-12 glasses of water everyday, it detoxifies your body and helps in rejuvenating your skin.
  10. Talcum powder for face is advisable as it absorbs extra oil produced.
  11. A natural homemade way to maintain oily skin is mix lemon juice and water in equal portion and apply it on your face and let it dry and wipe it warm water and then wash it properly with cool water.
  12. Stop feeding your stomach with fried foods; don’t gorge on junk food, deep fried food tends to release more oil from skin. Keep a watch on your fat intake. You can go for Olive oil in cold form.
  13. Masks available in the market are good option for oily skin. They are available in different forms mud or clay forms. White or red coloured clay masks are best for sensitive skin. Mix honey and green clay powder in equal portion for clay masks leave it for 15minutes and wipe it off. It is beneficial if you mask it on your face numerous times.
  14. There should be a big “NO” for all the junk food lovers. No fast foods, no colas, no sugar and no alcohol.
  15. It is preferable to wash your face with hot water. Warm and cold water is not advisable.
  16. Loofah sponge is a good way to scrub. It removes your dead skins and opens your pores and helps in rejuvenating your skin. Avoid using loofah near eyes and painful areas.
  17. To stay away from wrinkles or saggy skin use oil-free moisturizers. Moisturizer helps maintaining the skin and give flawless skin.
